  Joe Gallegos, M.B.A.

Vice President for Operations – Western U.S.
National Association of Community Health Centers

Joe Gallegos joined the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) as vice president for operations for the Western Region of the United States in October 2005, and is based in Albuquerque in the offices of the New Mexico Primary Care Association. Prior to joining NACHC, Mr. Gallegos was vice president of planning and development with Presbyterian Medical Services in Santa Fe, New Mexico, serving rural and frontier communities. Prior to his work at Presbyterian Medical Services, Mr. Gallegos was CEO of Health Centers of Northern New Mexico for eleven years. Joe is a member of the National Advisory Committee on Rural Health and Humans Services appointed by Secretary Michael Leavitt of the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services. The 27-member panel of national experts in rural health care provides advice to the Secretary on federal policy changes needed and makes recommendations for effective service delivery to best serve residents and families in rural America.
