Hablamos Juntos

Yolanda Partida is national program director for Hablamos Juntos – Language Policy and Practice in Health Care, an initiative to develop practical solutions to language barriers in health care. Hablamos Juntos (We Speak Together) located at the UCSF Fresno Center for Medical & Education Research in California, is funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to disseminate lessons learned from ten Hablamos Juntos demonstrations, promote adoption of Universal Health Care symbols for health care signage and to develop practical tools to produce useful non English materials for all languages. Dr. Partida has extensive experience in public/teaching and private hospital administration, public health administration and in private consulting. In these settings she has been responsible for overseeing a variety of personal and public health programs, developing public-private partnerships, multi-agency strategic plans, designing and conducting feasibility studies, and producing business case analyses.
